Dry Ice Capades
This class offers children a solid introduction to the three states of matter and their properties. They will learn how and why matter changes between the different states, and will have a good understanding of elementary physical principles. The children will be able and eager to tell any inquiring adult all about carbon dioxide–in its solid or gaseous state! Perhaps most importantly, this lesson relates the material to the students' lives and school curriculum: they will leave with an understanding of the science behind the water cycle and carbonation!

Planets and Moons
In Planets and Moons, students use models and scaling in order to understand the relative size and distance of objects in our Solar System. Students experiment with eclipses and learn why denser materials make up a planet’s core while lighter materials form its surface.

Children are introduced to the science of geology. They examine three different rock types and learn how and where they formed. Children investigate tectonic plates and learn how their movements cause stress on the Earth. They discover that these movements can cause mountains to form, earthquakes to occur, and volcanoes to erupt. The children make and take home a sedimentator. It reinforces the concept of sedimentary rock formation learned in class.

Take a tour on the electron freeway! Conductors, insulators, and other elements in the world of circuits and electricity will be introduced. Children explore electrons and cooperate to create real series and parallel circuits.

All About Animals
All About Animals teaches children about the incredible, diverse life in the animal kingdom. Children learn how animals are adapted to their different habitats through specialized feet, fur, and feathers. Real tooth and claw replicas provide hands-on experience with the science of zoology. Activities about classification, camouflage, and animal life cycles introduce the diversity of animals on earth.

Do you know what an eco-system is? Did you know that plants and animals live and work together to produce a flow of energy this is distributed throughout a food chain in an ecosystem? Did you know that photosynthesis plays a part in this too? The students with an introduction to photosynthesis, including an understanding of the chemical processes and parts of a plant, what photosynthesis has to do with starch and getting to see a leaf up close and personal!

Students will find out what makes the world go ‘round in an entertaining introduction to the concepts and basics of forces. They will “meet” Sir Isaac Newton and find out he had a set of 3 important laws. They will also explore energy transfer and energy conversion! We will help them reach their potential as we move through all types of energy and catapult them into the exciting world of energy.

Mix it Up
This class introduces children to the properties of water, different densities and the concept of mixtures. Water is a remarkable substance. It covers more than three quarters of Earth’s surface—and no life on Earth could survive without it. Yet, besides water’s two other states (steam and ice), children know little about its other properties. This class will let them “get their feet wet” as they “wade” into water! But we’re not finished! A discrepant event involving immiscible liquids and beads with different densities introduces the concept of mixtures. Children identify mixtures in bottles as solutions, suspensions, or physical mixtures. They use flashlights to differentiate between suspensions and solutions.

Lights, Color, Action
In this class, children enter the world of light, color and illusions. Exciting experiments on white light including color-wheel blending and prism splitting spectrums introduce Newton’s color theory concepts. Activities involving spectroscopes, ultraviolet light, and chromatography provide entertaining lessons on scientific techniques used to study the physics of light. An introduction to the concepts of refraction and the science of optics will be done through engaging demonstrations and activities. A wide variety of optical illusions, like the mirror mirage, and convex and concave mirrors, will demonstrate how physics can trick our eyes.
